Home Energy Advice Team supports Viridian Housing residents in West Sussex
Following a competitive tender process, Viridian Housing has selected the Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT) at Southern Housing Group, one of the largest housing associations in the south east of England, to deliver home energy advice to its residents living in Worthing, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis.
As part of the contract, Southern Housing Group’s HEAT advisors will extend the work of the London-based Viridian Housing Energy Advice Team, by making up to 50 visits to residents in West Sussex. HEAT advisors will provide guidance on how to use heating systems more efficiently, switching energy tariffs and suppliers to save money, reducing water bills and how to apply for the Warm Home Discount, as well as installing free energy saving devices.
Established in 2014, HEAT holds a successful track record of providing personalised and face-to-face energy advice to Southern Housing Group residents and has supported more than 950 households to save a total of £237,000 off energy, gas and water bills; an average of £250 per household.
Will Routh, Head of Sustainability at Southern Housing Group, said:
“We’re delighted to provide home energy advice to Viridian’s residents in West Sussex and to support its commitment to sustainability.
“With our breadth and depth of experience, we’re well-qualified to deliver high quality home energy advice and tangible results to Viridian Housing residents.”
Brody Isaac, Interim Sustainability Manager at Viridian Housing, added:
“We were impressed with HEAT’s expertise and their proven track record of delivering results for residents.
“The team also provides services in addition to the visit, including energy saving measure kits and a final energy saving report detailing how and the amount of energy that could be saved, which ultimately made the difference when selecting our provider.”
