Southern Housing Group celebrates employees’ achievements at Long Service Awards
Staff at one of the South East of England’s largest housing associations hit another remarkable milestone after eighteen people were recognised for dedicating more than 15 years’ of service – or a total of 285 years – to the organisation.
The recognition took place at Southern Housing Group’s annual staff Long Service Awards, which involved over 90 people who have offered a combined total of over 800 years’ service to the Group.
The longest serving employees recognised at the awards, Vida Small, Sales Consultant; Rose Dunn, Support Worker and Dorothy Charman, Laundry Assistant have all worked for the Group for 20 years.
Vida Small, Sales Consultant, said: “My job involves supporting and guiding first time buyers through the process of purchasing their home on a shared ownership basis. It’s been very rewarding to help so many customers over the years, who would otherwise be unable to afford to buy a home, achieve their dream of owning their own home.”
Tom Dacey, Chief Executive said: “This past year has presented the sector with unprecedented challenges; and it is more than ever essential for our organisation to ensure that we recruit, develop and retain talented people.
“Our employees are the face of our organisation and play a critical role in our success. Their wealth of knowledge, skills and experience make a positive difference to our customers’ lives and continue to shape our future as a business with social objectives.
“The Long Service Awards are our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our members of staff for their hard work, time and ongoing commitment to the organisation, our customers and their colleagues.”
Southern Housing Group offers Long Service Awards to staff who have been with the organisation for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years or more.
