Extra care is a live-in service for people who would like to maintain their independence for as long as possible, and is available in two of our sheltered schemes on the Isle of Wight: Furze Brake in Newport and Byrnhill Grove in Ventnor.
It is designed for people who need additional support to live independently in their sheltered housing home.
With our extra care service, you receive around 14 hours of care and support each week to help you with things like getting up, showering and getting dressed, meal preparation, and other daily living and social activities. You can also access our 24 hour emergency response service.
Our trained and dedicated onsite carers can provide you with care and support that changes as your needs change.
You will be involved in designing your own care plan, which will prioritise your needs, wishes, and personal choices.
Social services, healthcare professionals and family members can also be involved in planning your care.
If extra care is not available where you live, you can still access the high level quality services available through our homecare or community support services.
