We help E. through our Domiciliary Care Agency, which provides care and support to help people remain living in their own homes.
E., 70, lives in one of our sheltered housing schemes in Ventnor. Although independent in nature, she is almost blind and extremely hard of hearing, and needs help to shower safely and attend medical appointments.
E. was losing her confidence in leaving her home and was becoming increasingly isolated. We worked with teams across the Group to find E. additional support through the Isle of Wight council, with a weekly two-hour social visit in addition to her care visits. E. now uses these visits to help with social outings or to get to medical appointments.
We also worked with Age UK to arrange for a volunteer to take E. out every fortnight.
The support E. has received has made a significant difference to her happiness and she is grateful for the support and company she has when going out. Working with internal and external partners means that any additional needs she may have can be addressed quickly.
