Working with communities
We help our customers work together, make new relationships, and increase their confidence through learning new skills and interacting with others.
Some of the ways we do this include:
Quarr Abbey gardening project
A customer-led community gardening project open to anyone with a learning disability on the Isle of Wight.
Supported Involvement Day
An annual celebration of our supported customers and the people who work with them.
Alzheimer’s Café
A networking and involvement opportunity for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s and their carers.
Autism Day
A day of activities to promote awareness of autism.
Giving Residents Opportunities and Wellbeing (GROW)
A support group for young people that promotes social inclusion and taking part in local activities.
Riverfest
Customers from across our services are involved in fundraising at this Isle of Wight-wide event that celebrates river and community life.
Resident Involvement Group
An opportunity for customers to promote social inclusion and help plan future events and activities.
We also help our customers take part in:
- Coffee and chat sessions
- Swimming club
- Walking activities
- Food, nutrition and cooking evenings
- Games and quiz nights
- Clubs and groups
- Scheme-based activities and events
- Supported Customer Forum
