About this role:
The Quarr Abbey gardening project provides our vulnerable customers and members of the community with gardening skills, a social network, and fun.
This is a great opportunity of you have a passion for gardening and enjoy working with people with learning disabilities.
What would you be responsible for?
• Selecting produce for the Quarr Abbey farm shop• Watering • General maintenance
What you need to know:
You’ll need to be 16 or over and must not be barred from working with vulnerable people.
Training and support will be given, although regrettably we are unable to support volunteers in this role who have additional support needs.
We are looking for volunteers who are able to commit on an ongoing basis so customers are able to get to know and build a relationship with them.
Skills or experience needed:
• Good communication skills• Caring, kind, friendly personality• Gardening knowledge
